Dana 44 Axle .Hello I have sprung a leak on right side rear axle and I know it is the bearing seal so i was wondering if anyone had a write up on how to do it I have not gotten my jeep manual yet so i would love..So I bought a Dana 44 last year- here was the picture, claimed it was complete and ready to go, the add claims it`s from a `77 Bronco, but that was.Hi, I have a Jeep Dana 44 rear in an MG and I was hoping you guys could help with a quick question. My truck has a dana 44 axle marked 44 3EF with 12`` x 3" drum& dana 44 axle . I don`t think having a super capable rig is all that important if you slide off a rock and slam open your oil pan/transmission/diff cover/transfer case/gas tank/etc. My son and I disassembled the axle to rebuild it and found that the bearing at the drivers side where.. I figure by the time I pay someone to do it for me, or buy a press,& . .I am a complete newbie to these CAD front axles.In my experience a dana 30 will handle 34`s all day as long as you do not lock it up and wheel it hard every day--with CJ`s I experienced more front drive shaft failures then axle issues--twisting usually. After a reading around it looks like changing this seal requires changing out the bearings which need to be pressed on.One of my favorite mods for the Jeep is armor. . I don`t know what Jeep the rear is from exactly.I have a rear axle leak by the outer seal. All JK owners know how weak their axles are and most of them have already reinforced& .
